Listen and watch as Jefferson County Master Gardener, Kate Musso talks about Alabama-grown culinary herbs like angelica, basil, bay leaf, borage, cilantro, lavender, mint, and more.

At today’s In The Kitchen talk, you’ll receive an overview of planting and propagation of the 5 most popular herbs from an Alabama master gardener, with an opportunity to have your questions answered!

Kate will be giving away limited copies of the Alabama Cooperative Extensions publication, “Growing Herbs”. This publication provides great instructions on how you can plant your kitchen herbs at home.

Sprigs of fresh rosemary, ready to take home and use (or dry for future use) will be given away – first come, first served.

Thanks to a donation by the Seed Exchange at the Botanical Gardens library in Birmingham, Kate will also have a limited number of seed packets to share with you, too.

What you need to know before Saturday’s talk: it truly is easy to grow herbs from all around the world in Alabama! Even the smallest garden, or windowsill can easily host an herb garden. Herb gardens will enhance culinary dishes year-round and take your home cooking up a notch!

With plenty of take-home goodies and knowledge available at today’s In The Kitchen talk, you don’t want to miss this opportunity to kick-start your home herb garden.
