Market Season is finally here, and the Pepper Place Studios building is where you'll find us this Saturday from 7am - 12pm!

Join us indoors for the Winter Market every Saturday morning Jan. 22 - April 9.
🌱 Don't forget, it's the winter growing season in Alabama right now, so our indoor winter market focuses on items like root veggies, eggs, honey, meat, leafy greens, and more.

We'll expand and move outdoors in April as the growing season changes.

There's a lot happening this year, so we'll be taking things a week at a time.

Do you enjoy the southern tradition of “luck and money”, too? 🌱✨

We’re excited to begin the 2022 Market Season in just a few weeks.

The first “Saturday Schedule” will be posted to our website homepage on Monday, January 17 with info on our first market.

✨ This weekly Saturday Schedule is where you’ll find the vendor list, online ordering links, location, hours, and more of what to expect for each market throughout the year.

✨ Because our market takes place each Saturday mid-Jan to mid-Dec, we take it just one week at a time! There’s a lot going on throughout the season, and you’ll find all the details each week on the Saturday Schedule.

We’re sharing those below:

We’ll offer two ways to shop again this year: order online for a Curbside pick up •and• visit the in-person market.

CURBSIDE
•Order online from farmers & food producers for an easy Curbside pick up on Saturday mornings.
•Your first chance to order Curbside is Monday, 1/17 - Friday, 1/21 for the Saturday, 1/22 pick up.

INDOOR MARKET
•Our in-person market begins Saturday, 1/22 between 7am to 12pm.
•Traditionally, our Winter Market lasts 12 weeks and takes place indoors. This year, it’s happening Jan. 22 - April 9.
•The goal of the Indoor Winter Market is to feature what’s growing in Alabama during the winter growing season.

🌱 Our bigger Outdoor Market begins in mid-April. So we’ll plan to expand and move outdoors Saturday, April 16.

Some seasons have given us blue skies on cool winter mornings in December, and others rain and sleet.

All to say, we’ve been checking the weather forecast for tomorrow’s Market every hour all week. 🤓Literally.

Unfortunately, our beloved market tents won’t hold up in the predicted wind gusts during Market hours.

💛 Our artist and food producer friends will not be joining us tomorrow.

🌱 However, Alabama farmers and ranchers will be at Pepper Place from 7am to 12pm! Find the list on our website. @hinkels_bakery will join them with breads and pastries.

☔️ Hinkel’s will be on a covered porch, and the farmers will be working out of their trucks in the big parking lot.

🎄 We hope to see your smiling faces one last time before we break for the holiday season! #localisbetter

Did you know you can start shopping early by ordering ahead online with Curbside? The items you order with Curbside will be waiting for you at our indoor Curbside location while you enjoy the Outdoor Market on Saturday! 🚗 You'll just drive around to the pick up location before you leave to go home.

It's an easy way to be sure you don't miss out on the items you need this weekend. Farmers and producers receive 100% of their item sales either way you shop.

A look back at this season:
This past year, we've helped over 150 farmers and local food producers stay in business.
We created a Curbside pick up market option.
We've maintained our SNAP program with matching Double Bucks so more people have more access to fresh food.
We teamed up with the @cityofbirmingham, @bjctamax and @exploreuab to establish markets to serve residents of food deserts. We've offered free financial education workshops to market vendors and small business owners. And most recently, we helped host @iacppix, the first-ever major national food conference to come to Alabama.

And we're not done yet!
